In many industrial fields, tri-drum dryer is applied to various kinds of materials with different characteristics on physics, chemistry, structure mechanics, biochemistry, etc. It doesn’t seem to be very clear for you to sort them, as a matter of fact, we can sort them by the degree of difficulty of removing water content from.

Generally, they can be sorted into the following kinds:

• Capillary and porous materials:

After the drying process, this kind of material would become brittle and slightly shrink, so they can be milled into powder, for example: sand, charcoal.

• Colloidal material:

The size and shape of this kind of material would have obviously change during the process of drying, while the elasticity remains.   

• Capillary and porous/ Colloidal materials

As the name implies, materials of this kind has both features, that means the capillary porous is elasticity, the water content can dilate them, for example: peat, wood and leather.

• Hygroscopic material

The water content in the pores of the hygroscopic material exists in the form of bound water, the pores are big or micro sizes, and the vapor pressure of water is lower than the pure water under the same temperature.
